About the district of

Rodney Bay (within Gros Islet)

Originally a quiet fishing village, it has gone on to become one of the more popular tourist destinations in the country. Gros Islet is not only the name of one of the island’s better known villages but also refers to one of the eleven quarters.

If one neighborhood defines Saint Lucia’s modern real estate market, it’s this one. Rodney Bay grew out of the same marina development that transformed Gros Islet in the 1970s, and it’s now the island’s liveliest hub for dining, nightlife, and marina living — home to IGY Rodney Bay Marina, a regular finish line for major transatlantic sailing events including the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers. Condos, townhouses, and gated villa communities cluster around the lagoon and marina, and the area’s walkability sets it apart from almost anywhere else on the island. For buyers prioritizing rental yield and everyday convenience, Rodney Bay is often the first stop and the last word.
